Il Giorno Quattro
2:22 a.m. eastern time Sunday mar. 22
Well… the same thing happened this past day as it did the day before. We didn’t even get back to the hotel until 12 a.m. However, this day was the best day of the entire trip, so far. Kelton, Caleb, and I were almost late to get on the bus this morning, but we were able to get up and dressed in just a few minutes. Everybody got on the bus and we went to NYC. When we got to see the skyline for the first time, everyone got pumped up.
First thing we did was get off the bus and walked around Central Park for 20 minutes or so and then went into the subway, which was a first for me. Anyway, we didn’t exactly know where we were going, but we got it figured out and were on our way from 72nd to somewhere else. We got off at our stop only to board another. Chelsy Rea was almost shut in the door because half the people were on the bus and the other half was trying to still trying to get on, and the door decided not to wait. The door began to close and started squeezing Chelsy, but an extremely nice New Yorker pried the doors back open and everybody got on. It wasn’t quite 11 and the day was already intense.
Once we got to our destination, which was china town, we had our eyes peeled for good products to buy. 10 minutes into the shopping trip, an asian lady led us to this building a tad bit off the main road and we went up the stairs and into a very cramped room. It was filled with name brand purses and all the girls went crazy. Oh, and the origin of the purses were very… questionable, but no one complained since we were getting them cheap. I bought one for my sister, Erin, who is in the Bahamas for vacation. Once everyone was satisfied with their purchases, we left the store and I began on my quest to find some Jordans of “questionable origin”.
The girls did a little more shopping, so the guys split up from the girls. I, on the other hand, was not ready to give up on the shoes. We found a shoe store, but they were normal priced. Caleb was able to find some all gold converse that he seemed to fall in love with. I was not as successful. We left the store and walked to ground zero which was very interesting, sad, astonishing and patriotic at the same time. After some pictures, Chase said we wouldn’t mind going back to Canal Street (the one with the “questionable origin” products) to buy a purse for somebody. This was exactly what I wanted to hear because if i was going to find some shoes, they would be there. So Chase and I set off by ourselves to find a deal. We walked back to Canal Street and we both bought purses, then a guy was able to lead me to another guy to lead me to my shoes. They are half a size to big, but for the price, i couldn’t pass up the chance. They are AMAZING. Red, Black, and white Jordans. This made my day, but we still had to get back with the rest of the group.
Chase and I get on a train to Times Square because that was where we thought the other guys were going, but we thought wrong. We get to Times Square and get ahold of Curtis Thomas, who says they are in Battery Park looking at the Statue of Liberty, which is in the exact opposite direction. So, we get back down to the subway and get a ride to the closest spot to Battery Park. We get back up to ground level and call Curt yet again. GREAT NEWS! He tells us that they already left and went back to Times Square. Since Chase and I were already there, we decided to make a little walk to see Lady Liberty. We took some pictures and got back on a train to Times Square. Coach was overly pleased with Chase and I because when we left him at Ground Zero and were suppose to meet up with the group of girls, but that didn’t work out to well since we were on our own mission. But I’m almost positive we wouldn’t have been as successful if we would’ve had a chaperone. Anyhow, we got back with the other guys and walked around Times Square and then got some food, which was where people got split up again.
Kelton, Caleb, Chase and I ate at a delicious pizza place while Martha and Dave Davis ate at some steak place and also while Charles, Brook, Brandon, Curt, and Rob went somewhere else to get a story done. After food we met up with coach and Martha and hailed a cab so martha could go back to the hotel. So now we are left with Coach, Caleb, Chase, Kelton, and me. We went to see Rockefeller Plaza and then after a few different direction from people, we got to Grand Central Station. We found a bathroom and then ate Cheescake at Juniors in Grand Central Station. After awhile, we took a train back to Times Square to meet up with Rob, Curt, Charles, Brook, and Brandon. (and all this last paragraph, the girls are split up and watching Broadway shows).
The girls get out of their shows and everybody met up again like the big happy family htv is. We got on the bus and went back to the hotel. I think most everybody went to bed, but I am dedicated to my duties as a member of this HTV staff to write a daily blog, but now i’m done for the morning.
And HTV MAGAZINE WON ANOTHER STN EXCELLENCE AWARD FOR OUR JANUARY SHOW. we were told this on the bus ride into the city, which made the day so much better. and a guy freestyled for Caleb, Chase, Kelton, and I in times square.
